On 15 December 2020, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Japan held the Defense Minister’s Forum titled ‘Indo Pacific: Japan and Germany’s Engagement in the Region’, co-organised with the National Institute for Defense Studies (NIDS). The event was held in Japanese and German, and Japanese Minister of Defense Nobuo Kishi and his counterpart Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer openly discussed the challenges and opportunities for security cooperation between both countries in the Indo-Pacific region.
