KAS Country Programme Japan focuses on and promotes the bilateral relationship between Germany and Japan by initiating direct exchanges between the two countries.
The programme conducts the following: Inter-Parliamentary Dialogue, Party to Party Dialogue between CDU (Christian Democratic Union) and the LDP (Liberal Democratic Party), active exchanges with other political parties, as well as experts’ forums, conferences, study tours and scholarships. It also produces publications that are related to the work of the Programme.
KAS Regional Economic Programme Asia (SOPAS) is a regional forum that contributes to the debate and reform of economic and governance models in Asia.
It brings together a network of policy makers, economists, political analysts and thought leaders across Asia to discuss emerging issues, propose policy alternatives and share best practices. These discussions in Asia are also brought to the fore in Europe through expert conferences, seminars, and workshops. Publications on key topics are also regularly released to provide insights and recommendations to national and regional policymakers.

The second joint seminar on economic security, organized by the Nakasone Peace Institute (NPI) and the Japan office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, will focus on critical raw materials and supply chains. The Foundation was established in 1955 as “Society for Chrisitan-Democratic Civic Education”.
