The Future of Work for the Asian Youth: Malaysia

The Future of Work for the Asian Youth webinar series, jointly organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Japan’s Social and Economic Governance in Asia (SOPAS) and the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF) launched on 27 August 2020. Each of the four sessions focused on different countries in Asia (Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam) and looked at the changing nature of employment for youth, challenges and opportunities, and how the country is preparing for the future of work.

The third of the four sessions of the Future of Work for the Asian Youth webinar series focused on Malaysia and took place on 8 February 2021. The panellists of the session were Dr. Muhammed Abdul Khalid​, Research Fellow, Institute of Malaysia and International Studies (IKMAS) National University of Malaysia; Ms. Tricia Yeoh, Chief Executive Officer, Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS); and Mr. Syed Saddiq bin Syed Abdul Rahman, Member of Parliament (Muar, Johore), Parliament of Malaysia. The session then ended with a closing remark by Dr. Alan Hao Yang, Executive Director, TAEF. The moderator of the session was Mr. Yuri Baral, TAEF Non-Resident Assistant Research Fellow.
