The Future of Work for the Asian Youth: Indonesia

The Future of Work for the Asian Youth webinar series, jointly organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Japan’s Social and Economic Governance in Asia (SOPAS) and the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF) launched on 27 August 2020. Each of the four sessions focused on different countries in Asia (Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam) and looked at the changing nature of employment for youth, challenges and opportunities, and how the country is preparing for the future of work.

The second of the four sessions of the Future of Work for the Asian Youth webinar series shifted the discussion to Southeast Asia, this time focusing on Indonesia and took place on 5 November 2020. The panel of speakers was comprised of Mr. Yogi Harsudiono, Acting Deputy Director for Industrial Affairs, Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), Republic of Indonesia; Mr. Dandy Rafitrandi, Researcher at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS); and Mr. Samuel Nursamsu, Economist at Cardno (Prospera). KAS Senior Program Manager, Ms. Cristita Marie Perez summarized the session, ad was followed by TAEF Executive Director Dr. Alan Hao Yang for the closing message. Mr. Yuri Baral, TAEF Non-Resident Assistant Research Fellow, served as moderator for the activity.
